Pawned the family Bible Prayed my last Amen Mainline's down and my smokes run out But I'm never going again No, I'm never going again No, I'm never going again Took my daddy's rifle Traded my IOUs Got some favors saved with the vile and depraved But ain't no one coming though Ain't no one coming though Ain't no one coming though When the dark times come are you wise or are you older? River on fire and the winds getting colder Who's gonna hear you when you break down crying Put a blanket on your bed when you fall down dying My soul, my own My soul, my own Was it something that you thought That you should be, but you're not Do you think that you get it? You get it? You get it but you don't My soul, my own Every man's a sinner And I've done more than I should Never had much but a smile and the touch But I got it when I could Yeah, I got it when I could I got it when I could When the dark times come are you wise or are you older? River on fire and the winds getting colder Who's gonna hear you when you break down crying Put a blanket on your bed when you fall down dying My soul, my own My soul, my own Was it something that you thought That you should be, but you're not Do you think that you get it? You get it? You get it but you don't My soul, my own Lord, don't quit me now Lord, don't quit me now Lord, don't quit me now Lord, don't quit me now Lord, don't quit me now Lord, don't quit me now My soul, my own My soul, my own Was it something in a smile Made you throw down on the pile Ride out the turn, you and me, and our jagoff hearts My soul, my own My soul, my own My soul, my own My soul, my own

What if only sound Was the music we need To make the future clear Bring you near to me What if only sound Was the music we need To make the future clear Bring you near to me I'm on top of the world But it feels like it's sinking I'm on top of the world Floating high like a cloud And I can't make it alone Can't make it without you long I'm on top of the world But I'm on my way down What if only life was here To make us sad to see You weren't here to sing The songs you could've sung with me What if only life was here To make us sad to see You weren't here to sing The songs you could've sung with me I'm on top of the world But it feels like it's sinking I'm on top of the world Floating high like a cloud And I can't make it alone Can't make it without you long I'm on top of the world But I'm on my way down What if our only time Is wasting in the prime It aches your back and Takes your sleep and Drives your mind What if our only time Is wasting in the prime It aches your back and Takes your sleep and Drives your mind I'm on top of the world But it feels like it's sinking I'm on top of the world Floating high like a cloud And I can't make it alone Can't make it without you long And I can't make it alone Can't make it without you long And I can't make it alone Can't make it without you long I'm on top of the world But I'm on my way down

Last night I quit smoking cigarettes Started again this morning Started again this morning Last night I quit smoking cigarettes Started again this morning Started again this morning I got a cough, won't go away I got a brain, forgot how to sleep Between the Afrin and the Primatine I'm half on life support And that's bad So I looked at my smokes and I said we're done Somewhere along the line you just stopped being fun Sometimes you gotta burn your lungs But the rest of the time It's fucking stupid So I quit (Yeehaw) I woke up Pretty good so far I ate some breakfast Kinda tasted like breakfast should I thought about going for a run Thought about playing some guitar Thought about cigarettes Thought I might like to have one But I didn't No I didn't Well, I didn't Til I did Didn't wanna do it I got bored Don't judge me Thought I'd feel better But I just felt tired And pretty disapointed in my lack of self-control And I thought- tomorrow I'll quit tomorrow And this is the last day I'll smoke cigarettes This is the last day I'll smoke cigarettes This is the last day I'll smoke cigarettes This is the last day, last day, it's the Last cigarette day Last cigarette day, for real It's the last cigarette day, for real Better do it right Just one last pack I'll call some buddies That like to smoke cigarettes And we'll eat Crunchburgers And we'll drink IPAs And we'll smoke cigarettes Yeah, it's gonna be a good time Good time Everyone I know came down to Millvale El Mambu was there and Taylor Swift and Big With Seed And we smoked and drank and smoked and it was spiritual And everyone decided In unison decided It was the Last Cigarette Day Last Cigarette Day, for real It's the Last Cigarette Day For real So I ate some shrooms and I jammed with band And I stared at the wall and I stared at my hand There was fourteen hours of Settlers of Catan And I drove to the beach and played with some sand And traded my car for a catamaran And sailed away Like David Crosby Yeah, I did Last night I quit smoking cigarettes Started again this morning

Akrasia is a rock & roll band that jams like a jam band but likes to take showers.

They are slackers with guitars and computers riding the vibe of the muse through the tangled webs of this reckless game of Risk, this perpetual game of Othello that is life in this modern age.

They are prophets and poets. Observers and wanderers.
Actors in the great unwritten play. They play music for beer and they like it.

They dig fast cars, finely grilled red meat, long walks in the woods, free interpretation, extra innings, pure opium, the History Channel, listening to music through good headphones and relations with pretty girls.

They embrace freedom of the mind, the right to have a good time, and our eventual alien overlords.

The band is an always-evolving, usually-revolving musical collective currently featuring whoever shows up.

Akrasia has released nine or twn albums.

They're pretty decent. If you dig decent music, you might dig them.
They're probably currently recording another one or two. They will be most excellent.

Their live shows are a spontaneous, groove-tastic romp through their catalog of hundreds of original songs and a bunch of songs that they didn't write also.

Each show is different and special, like a snowflake or a vagina.
